A pre-delivery ultrasound is performed during 37 and 38 weeks of gestation and includes full check-up of the baby: weight, heartbeat, fetal position, placenta position, amniotic fluid and position of the umbilical cord for mothers giving natural birth. This scan is done with 2D ultrasound as the fetus is too big to obtain other images.
